# THE JUNIOR ACE : Has there been a truer measure of greatness than defying all the odds? A fresh-faced kid with the feeling of something to prove, turned to a king with a throne too tall to challenge. Many call it ego, but the talent and ability to back it up disprove such a label. And in the case of Jamie Barlow? It's hard to argue with the history books penned by the broken barriers. Until he reached whatever his mind was set to, he has always gone Full Auto.

biography.
EARLY LIFE : James David Barlow was born on May 14th, 1993, in Courtenay, British Columbia, Canada. He is the oldest of two children, as his sister and fellow professional wrestler, Quinn Barlow, was born just shy of three years later on February 2nd, 1996.Their biological mother left the family shortly after Quinn was born, and the siblings were raised from then on by their father, along with their babysitter and eventual step-mother, Aimee Leota. It was through Aimee that the siblings got into professional wrestling, as she would put on Monday Night RAW whenever she was looking after them. Jamie and Quinn quickly developed a very strong passion for wrestling, and frequently had matches against one another in their living room. Both of them dreamed of one day growing up to become professional wrestlers, with Jamie citing Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Juventud Guerrera, and many other legendary cruiserweights as his biggest inspirations for his eventual wrestling style.Later in life, when Quinn was in middle school, she made the decision to drop out and pursue homeschooling for the sake of her mental health, after countless years of bullying. Shortly after, Quinn was officially diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).While his sister faced difficulties in education, Jamie was able to graduate from high school. Immediately after he was finished, he decided to pursue his dream of pro-wrestling. But he didn't want to do so without his younger sister. CANADIAN INDY CIRCUIT (2012 - 2015) : In late 2011, Jamie, along with his younger sister while she was still in home education, both began training to become pro-wrestlers. They were trained by a small local promotion named Comox Valley Pro Wrestling, which was the only wrestling promotion on Vancouver Island. The Barlow siblings made their shared debut in a tag team match on February 24th, 2012, just two days after Quinn's sixteenth birthday, where she was pinned by one of their two male opponents. The local fans grew attached to the pair of siblings, who continued teaming up every time that CVPW ran shows. As one of the few tag teams in the promotion, it didn't take long for them to find success, as on September 22nd, Quinn and Jamie won the CVPW Tag Team Championship, marking their first reigns as champions. With their stock rapidly growing in the British Columbia wrestling scene, they soon made their debut for one of the province's biggest promotions, All-Star Wrestling, on November 16th in a tag team title challenge, where they shocked the fans by defeating Azeem The Dream & Bill McCoy to capture the ASW Tag Team Championship in their very first match for the promotion.During their dual title reign, the siblings crossed over to the neighbouring province of Alberta, where they teamed up for the Prairie Wrestling Alliance promotion, winning the PWA Canadian Tag Team Championship on February 2nd, 2013 to earn themselves a third concurrent tag title run in their debut year.
Unfortunately for the pairing, they would first lose their PWA Canadian Tag Team Championship at the end of March, followed by the CVPW Tag Team Titles just shy of a month later. But their reign as the ASW Tag Team Champions continued for the remainder of the year, during which they also captured the Thrash Tag Team Championship on September 13th, then Monster Pro Wrestling's MPW Renegade Tag Team Championship on October 5th.Their reign with the Thrash Tag Team Championship would last only 64 days, and shortly after they would finally lose the ASW Tag Team Championship on January 25th, 2014, after a staggering 435 day reign — the longest reign with the titles to this day.Lastly, the siblings lost the MPW Renegade Tag Team Championship on May 3rd, marking the first time in over a year and a half that they were without tag team gold. After a great two year run as a tag team, Jamie and Quinn announced that they were to go their separate ways and chase singles success.Jamie would find his first success as a singles wrestler in All-Star Wrestling, where he captured the ASW Cruiserweight Championship from Colin Cutler on June 28th, 2014. While he reigned as champion, Barlow took his first bookings outside of the country with a small tour on the west coast of the United States. During his short time in America, he developed a close friendship and in-ring partnership with the Seattle-based independent wrestler, Josh Hammond. They formed a tag team known as The Kings of the New Age, as a part of which Barlow would make his debut for Pro Wrestling Guerrilla on October 17th with an unsuccessful challenge for the PWG World Tag Team Championship at PWG Untitled II.Despite the loss, Barlow would find further success back in his home province with a win over Tony Baroni to win the ECCW Canadian Championship on October 18th. Just over a month later on November 28th, he lost the ASW Cruiserweight Championship to Matt XStatic to end his reign after 153 days as champion. He subsequently lost the ECCW Canadian Championship on January 3rd, 2015 to Nelson Creed, ending his reign at 77 days, but he would then capture the PWA Commonwealth Championship in the Prairie Wrestling Alliance on the 24th by defeating Brody Malibu at PWA Genesis 2015.During his reign as champion, Barlow once again returned to the north-western United States, where he worked for PWG and a handful of other independent promotions. Competing in great matches against the likes of Ricochet, Matt Sydal, AR Fox, Andrew Everett and other great cruiserweight wrestlers. Barlow had built a reputation as one of, or perhaps the best high flyer in Canadian wrestling today, which he would soon get an opportunity to prove. After recapturing the ASW Cruiserweight Championship on March 28th from Matt XStatic, then subsequently losing the PWA Commonwealth Championship on July 4th, Barlow took the former title overseas for his first tour of Japan. PRO-WRESTLING NOAH (2015 - 2023) : After being announced as a foreign guest entrant in the upcoming 2015 Global Jr. Heavyweight League — the first time the tournament was held since the inaugural Global Jr. Heavyweight League back in 2009 — Barlow was slated to make his debut for the promotion when the tournament began on July 18th. He competed in the B Block alongside some of the world's greatest Jr. Heavyweight wrestlers: Daisuke Harada, El Desperado, Hitoshi Kumano, Kenoh, Sho Tanaka and Zack Sabre Jr.. Jamie finished his tournament run with an even record of 3 - 3, picking up six points with victories over Desperado, Kumano, and Tanaka. Barlow was the final hurdle for the eventual block and tournament winner, Daisuke Harada, who showed respect and praise to Jamie after the match.Barlow remained in Japan, competing for Pro-Wrestling NOAH for the duration of the Summer Navigation 2015 tour, where he teamed alongside Harada and his unitmates as an honorary member of the No Mercy faction. Jamie's first tour with Japan would come to an end with the NTV G+ Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League, beginning on September 5th. Jamie teamed up with Genba Hirayanagi of No Mercy, competing in the A Block against El Desperado & TAKA Michinoku, Kota Umeda & Kudo, Masamune & Taiji Ishimori, and Yoshinari Ogawa & Zack Sabre Jr.. The pairing only scored two points across their four matches with a victory over Desperado & Michinoku, who would go on to make the finals of the tournament. After the tournament, Jamie bid farwell to Japan for now, as the crowd had embraced him for his incredible wrestling ability. He hoped to return someday, as his dream since before he had even started wrestling was to compete full-time in Japan. But for now, he returned home to Canada, where he would be defeated for his ASW Cruiserweight Championship on November 27th to Colin Cutler, the same man that he had beaten for his first championship reign. Following the match, Barlow announced that he was taking a few months off to get surgery and recover from a shoulder injury that he sustained all the way back in the Global Jr. Heavyweight League.Barlow spent the next four months out, before making his return in dramatic fashion on the final night of Pro-Wrestling NOAH's The Second Navigation tour on February 24th. He confronted the brand new GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, during which he revealed that he had spent the last few weeks settling into a new residence in Shinjuku, and had signed full-time to Pro-Wrestling NOAH. The challenge against Kanemaru took place on March 19th at The Great Voyage In Korakuen, in which Barlow was defeated by the champion making his first defence.Jamie competed as a body in multi-person tag team matches, until he teamed up with Genba Hirayanagi once again for that year's NTV G+ Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League, beginning on July 16th. The duo competed in the single block against ACH & Taiji Ishimori, Andy Dalton & Hitoshi Kumano, Momo no Seishun Tag, El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru, and Hajime Ohara & Kenoh. Once more, they would only score two points as they defeated Desperado & Kanemaru. Desperado had grown tired of Barlow quickly, and viewed him as a thorn in his side now that he was 0 - 3 against him in tournaments. The two settled their score at Summer Festival 2016 on August 6th, where Desperado would finally defeat Jamie Barlow.Jamie spent most of the remainder of the year competing in muti-person tag matches, improving with each showing and giving his all in every match. Jamie stepped up to the reigning GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Atsushi Kotoge, on November 22nd at Night 12 of the Global League tournament, where he issued a challenge to him for the championship. The match took place on December 2nd at One Night Cruise in Korakuen, where he defeated Kotoge to begin his first reign as GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion, becoming the first foreign title of the holder in over five years.During his inaugural championship reign, Barlow made his first successful defence of the title against Taiji Ishimori on January 21st, 2017 on Night 9 of The First Navigation tour, then subsequently against Hitoshi Kumano on March 12th at The Great Voyage in Yokohama. On April 22nd, Barlow looked to become a double champion in Pro-Wrestling NOAH when he teamed up with the man who had taken a mentor role to him, Daisuke Harada, to challenge Hi69 & Taiji Ishimori for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship on the first night of that year's Global Tag League. They came up short, and just over a month later on May 27th, Barlow was defeated by HAYATA on the sixth night of the Navigation with Breeze tour for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship, ending his first reign with the gold after an impressive 176 days.Following his reign, Jamie would once again team with Daisuke Harada to enter that year's renamed Global Jr. Heavyweight Tag League, which began on July 13th. They competed in the single block against Gaston Mateo & Kaiser, Gurukun Mask & Shuri Joe, Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano, HAYATA & YO-HEY, Hi69 & Taiji Ishimori, MAO & Shunma Katsumata, and Phil Atlas & Seiya Morohashi. In his third entrance into the tournament, Jamie finally achieved a positive record with his new partner, as they finished on eight points across their seven matches with victories over Mateo & Kaiser, Gurukun & Shuri, MAO & Katsumata, and Hi69 & Ishimori — during which Barlow pinned Ishimori, who was not only one-half of the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, but also the reigning GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion after defeating HAYATA back on June 25th.Following his pinfall victory over Ishimori, Jamie issued his challenge to the champion for Departure on August 6th, where he came up short. Following the match, his partner and mentor, Daisuke Harada stepped up to challenge Ishimori. Jamie felt a little upstaged after his strong effort, especially once Harada defeated Ishimori to capture the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship on October 1st at The Great Voyage In Yokohama Vol. 2. Not wasting a second, Jamie got into the ring after the match and called his shot to challenge Harada for his newly won championship.Their match took place on November 19th at the final of the 2017 Global League, where Jamie was once again unsuccessful in his challenge. Harada offered a handshake to Jamie after the match, but he showed a change in attitude as he refused, swatting away Daisuke's hand and leaving him in the ring. Turning his back on the man who had took him under his wing more than two years ago. After an absence from the Winter Navigation tour, Barlow returned with an altered look and a more heelish attitude on the Navigation For The Future tour, beginning on January 6th, 2018. He primarily wrestled in singles matches against younger talent, or occasionally in tag team matches with some other ill-behaved members of the roster. This continued until that year's Global Jr. Heavyweight Tag League was on the horizon, where he made a call to his old friend and partner, Josh Hammond. The Kings of the New Age were reunited, joining the field against Daisuke Harada & Tadasuke, Hajime Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano, HAYATA & YO-HEY, Ikuto Hidaka & Takuya Sugawara, Junta Miyawaki & Seiya Morohashi, and the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka. Barlow & Hammond finished on six points with victories over Harada & Tadasuke, HAYATA & YO-HEY, and Miyawaki & Morohashi. Despite not defeating the champions in the tournament, the duo did challenge Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka on September 2nd at Ark New Chapter 2018, but would come up short in their attempt.Just a few short days later on September 8th began the third-ever Global Jr. Heavyweight League, in which Jamie Barlow entered into the A Block against his partner Josh Hammond, Hitoshi Kumano, Seiya Morohashi, Tadasuke and his former mentor, Daisuke Harada. He scored a very impressive record with his only loss coming to Hammond, finishing on 8 points with victories over the rest of the competitors. He competed in the tournament finals against YO-HEY, where he proceeded to make history by defeating YO-HEY, becoming the first and only foreigner to win the Global Jr. Heavyweight League.Following his tournament victory and his first singles victory over Daisuke Harada, he felt very confident in challenging his former mentor for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship. The match took place on October 30th on the opening night of that year's Global League, where Barlow debuted a brand new finisher he dubbed the Silver Bullet to defeat Harada for a second time, and win his second GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship.Barlow went on to make the first successful defence of his second reign by defeating the man who ended his first reign, HAYATA, on November 17th on Night 7 of the Global League. He then defended the title again against Tadasuke on November 25th at the tournament final, before he was challenged to a rematch by Daisuke Harada. The match took place at Great Voyage In Yokohama Vol. 2 on December 16th, where Harada would get the better of Barlow and end his second reign just after it was getting off of its feet, at just 47 days. After the devastating loss, Barlow momentarily turned his attention away from chasing singles gold. Teaming up with Josh Hammond, the two challenged and defeated Hajima Ohara & Hitoshi Kumano for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship on February 24th, 2019, marking both men's first reign with the titles. With his confidence regained, Jamie issued a challenge to Daisuke Harada for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship for March 10th at Great Voyage in Yokohama. In the match, Barlow gave up his pride and took an underhanded approach to win back the title from Harada, earning himself a third GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship reign, and becoming a dual champion in the process.Barlow went on to make his first defence of the championship against Minoru Tanaka at the Global Tag League Final on May 4th. On that night, he would join Kenoh, Atsushi Kotoge, Yoshiki Inamura and Masa Kitamiya as a founding member of the KONGO faction. While reigning as a double champion, Barlow entered into the 2019 Global Jr. Heavyweight Tag League alongside Josh Hammond once again, beginning on May 28th, where they competed in the single block against Chris Ridgeway & Hitoshi Kumano, Daisuke Harada & Tadasuke, Hajime Ohara & NOSAWA Rongai, HAYATA & YO-HEY, Hi69 & Tanaka, and Junta Miyawaki & Seiya Morohashi. The champions topped the block with nine points, with the only blemishes on their record being a draw with HAYATA & YO-HEY, and a defeat to Hi69 & Tanaka. He and Josh made up for the former of those results in the tournament finals, defeating HAYATA & YO-HEY to win the entire tournament as the champions.Following the tournament, Barlow was challenged by Daisuke Harada for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship once again. Barlow declined his challenge and outright refused to face his former mentor, unless Harada were to earn it by winning that year's Global Jr. Heavyweight League. The tournament kicked off on June 27th, where Barlow competed in the B Block against Chris Ridgeway, Hajime Ohara, HAYATA, Hi69 and Hitoshi Kumano. He scored seven points, touting wins over Ohara, Hi69 and Kumano, as well as a draw against HAYATA. The B Block decision came to a playoff match, in which HAYATA defeated the champion and went on to win the tournament.Barlow met HAYATA once again on August 4th at Departure, and just as was the case in the playoff match, as well as their first encounter for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship, HAYATA emerged victorious to end Jamie's third reign with the title at 146 days.Though he had lost his singles championship, his reign with the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championships stretched on. After mounting defences three and four against Hi69 & Minoru Tanaka and Hajime Ohara & NOSAWA Rongai respectively, they were challenged for the titles by RATEL'S members Daisuke Harada & Tadasuke, continuing the long history between Harada and Barlow. The pairings first wrestled to a double count out draw on October 3rd at Premium Prelude, before meeting once again at The Best 2019, where the RATEL'S duo defeated the champions to end their reign after 251 days. However, just three weeks later at NOAH Starting Over 2019 on November 26th, a third match took place between the two teams where Josh Hammond & Jamie Barlow picked up the victory to become two-time GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions.Once again carrying gold, Jamie entered the 2020 Global Jr. Heavyweight League. The tournament began on January 10th in a brand new four-block format, where Barlow defeated Tadasuke, Haoh and Dick Togo in Block B for a perfect record. Meeting the A Block winner and reigning GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion, his tag team partner, Josh Hammond. He defeated Hammond, then faced off with his career rival, Daisuke Harada in the tournament finals. Despite Jamie's best effort, he was defeated by Daisuke Harada to dash his hopes of becoming a two-time tournament winner.
On March 24th at NOAH The Chronicle Vol. 2, RATEL'S members HAYATA & YO-HEY defeated Hammond & Barlow for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. Hammond went on to successfully defend the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship against Daisuke Harada, before he was challenged by Jamie Barlow after the result of their semifinal match in the Global Jr. Heavyweight League. The match took place at The Spirit on April 19th, where Barlow picked up the win to become a four-time GHC Jr. Heavyweight Champion.Barlow went on to have his greatest reign with the championship to date. Over the course of 11 months, he defended the title against Atsushi Kotoge, Kaz Hayashi, YO-HEY, Seiki Yoshioka, Hao, Daisuke Harada, Tadasuke, Hajime Ohara, and a second defence against Yoshioka. During the reign, he had also taken one of the dojo's arklings underneath his wing: a foreigner raised in Japan by the name of Hale Koleman. He teamed alongside Jamie and KONGO in a handful of multi-man matches, taking on a a similar role to the one that Jamie took from Daisuke Harada many years earlier.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Global Jr. Heavyweight League had been replaced by a Jr. Rumble. The match took place on October 4th during an N-1 Victory show, where Barlow entered 13th as the champion, and was eliminated by the eventual winner, Atsushi Kotoge. After a few months, Kotoge enacted his championship match and subsequently defeated by Barlow on March 14th, 2021, at Great Voyage 2021 in Fukuoka. Finally ending the champion's reign after 329 days — the fifth longest reign in the title's history to date.It took Jamie a while to get used to being without gold after nearly a year of carrying the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship. He attempted to earn a championship match immediately in that year's Jr. Rumble on June 26th where he entered at #13, but he was eliminated second-to-last by the eventual winner, HAYATA. His next plan to get back on track began by teaming with Tadasuke to challenge for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship on July 11th at Cross Over In Sendai, where they were unsuccessful against Daisuke Harada & Hajime Ohara. He then attempted to challenge HAYATA for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship, taking place on September 3rd at Yokohama Ovation, though he was again defeated by the champion. Finally, on October 10th at Grand Square In Osaka, the team of Barlow & Tadasuke would defeat Atsushi Kotoge & Hajime Ohara to capture his third GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. However, their reign was short lived and would come to an end via count out against HAYATA & Yoshinari Ogawa at The Best 2021 on November 28th. They were subsequently unsuccessful in a rematch against the champions at New Sunrise on January 4th, 2022.Just two days later, Jamie Barlow competed in his third Jr. Rumble, entering at #12 and and being the final elimination of the match once it came down to him and his career rival, Daisuke Harada. Two days after the unfortunate loss, Jamie made his debut for New Japan Pro-Wrestling in the co-promoted Wrestle Kingdom in Yokohama Arena on January 8th, where he teamed with Katsuhiko Nakajima, Kenoh, Manabu Soya and Tadasuke in a losing effort to BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, SANADA, Shingo Takagi & Tetsuya Naito of Los Ingobernables de Japón.Once Daisuke Harada had defeated HAYATA for the GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship in the match he earned from the Jr. Rumble, Jamie was the first man to step up to him. Their match took place on March 13th at Great Voyage In Yokohama — by now a historic event for the two rivals. In the match that wound up being their last ahead of Harada's retirement that Summer, Jamie finished on top by capturing his fifth GHC Jr. Heavyweight Championship. It was a short-lived reign for Barlow, however, who would lose the title back to the former champion, HAYATA, who continued to have his number. Ending his reign after just 47 days on April 29th at NOAH Majestic.Following the loss, Barlow looked to bounce back by fulfilling a life-long dream of his when he competed as a guest participant in that year's Best of the Super Jr. tournament in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. While representing NOAH & KONGO, and teaming with Saito Misaki for preliminary tag team action, Barlow competed in the tournament's B Block against BUSHI, DOUKI, El Desperado, El Phantasmo, Master Wato, Robbie Eagles, TJP, Titán and Wheeler Yuta. He finished on eight points with a decent showing, gaining victories over TJP, Titán, Wheeler Yuta, and his old tournament rival from his early NOAH days, El Desperado. Despite failing to advance from the block, Jamie was very grateful for his spot in the tournament, and hoped to compete more for NJPW in the future.Back in his home promotion of Pro-Wrestling NOAH, Jamie had an unremarkable majority of the year, before he went on to capture a fourth GHC Jr. Tag Team Championship with Shuji Kondo on November 10th at Go On The Demolition Stage 2021. However, their reign only lasted for 13 days before losing the gold back to Atsushi Kotoge & Seiki Yoshioka. On January 21st, 2023, Barlow would once again compete in New Japan Pro-Wrestling to represent NOAH and KONGO at the co-promoted Wrestle Kingdom 17 In Yokohama Arena event on January 21st. Barlow had a dream match of his by competing against Hiromu Takahashi, where he ultimately came up short to New Japan's own "Junior Ace".Just a few short days later, Jamie Barlow officially confirmed the swirling rumours that his time in Pro-Wrestling NOAH was coming to an end after seven years. His final match would take place on March 19th at Great Voyage In Yokohama, which had undoubtedly and consistently been the most important show of Jamie's NOAH career. He competed in a dream match of his against his KONGO teammate, Katsuhiko Nakajima, where he went out on his back.In his farewell backstage comments, Barlow invited the arkling that he had gotten close to, Hale Koleman, to take his place in KONGO and become a full-fledged member of the group. The remaining members fully backed the decision, but Koleman reacted by assaulting Jamie beating him down in his final moments with the company. Koleman was subsequently suspended for his actions, sullying the final appearance of The Junior Ace in Pro-Wrestling NOAH. NEW JAPAN PRO-WRESTLING (2023 - 2025) : Jamie Barlow made a surprise appearance for New Japan Pro-Wrestling on April 8th, 2023, at Sakura Genesis. He confronted Hiromu Takahashi following his IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship defence against Robbie Eagles, where Barlow revealed that he had signed with New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and was challenging Takahashi for the title. The championship match took place later that month at Wrestling Satsuma no Kuni on April 29th, where Hiromu defeated Barlow in his first match as a full-time competitor.Jamie proceeded to enter the 30th annual Best of the Super Jr. tournament, competing in it for the second time, and his first as a signed competitor. He competed in the A Block, finishing on the top of the block with 14 points, following victories over all of the competitors in his block, save for KUSHIDA and Taiji Ishimori. However, Barlow's hot streak came to an end when he was defeated by Master Wato in the semifinals of the tournament.Following the tournament, Barlow competed at the NJPW/AJPW/NOAH All Together Again event, where he teamed alongside his former fellow NOAH wrestlers, Alejandro, Atsushi Kotoge and Seiki Yoshioka, in a losing effort to Black Menso-re, Ryo Inoue, Ryusuke Taguchi and YOH. For the few months that followed, Barlow competed as a body in multi-man tag team matches across the New Japan Road and G1 Climax 33 tours.Following these tours, Barlow competed in the United States for the first time in eight years, competing at New Japan Pro-Wrestling's All Star Junior Festival in Philadelphia. He entered into the All Star Junior USA tournament, where he defeated Clark Connors in the opening round, before being defeated in the finals by Mike Bailey. The next night, Barlow competed on IMPACT! Wrestling and NJPW's co-promoted event, Multiverse United 2 – For Whom The Bell Tolls, where he participated in the opening Eight-Man Scramble Match won by Chris Sabin.Barlow was absent from the Road To Destruction tour back in Japan, though he did make a small handful of appearances for independent promotions whilst he was in America, including a victory over Alan Angels on IMPACT!'s Countdown To Emergence 2023, and a subsequent victory over Kevin Knight in a match on the September 7th episode of IMPACT! Wrestling, which led to an X-Division Championship Match against Chris Sabin the following week on IMPACT!'s 1000th episode spectacular. The following week, Barlow returned to Japan by rushing to the ring to back up Hiromu Takahashi from an incoming attack as Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney of the Bullet Club War Dogs surrounded the ring following Takahashi's successful IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship defence against Barlow's friend & partner Saito Misaki, during which Misaki was injured. But as Takahashi was focused on the War Dogs, Barlow attacked him from behind and held up the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship, as he took off his hoodie to reveal a Bullet Club War Dogs t-shirt.Now aligned with the War Dogs, Barlow was slated to challenge Hiromu Takahashi for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship. The match took place at Power Struggle on November 4th, where Takahashi defeated Barlow for a second time to retain the championship.Barlow returned to the United States to team with his fellow War Dogs Alex Coughlin, Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd at NJPW STRONG Lonestar Shootout in a 4-on-4 match the Guerrillas of Destiny and the Intergalactic Jet Setters, where they picked up the victory. He provided support for his faction mates on the World Tag League tour back in Japan, then took part in the New Japan Ranbo at Wrestle Kingdom 18.The following night at New Year Dash!!, Barlow teamed with the rest of the War Dogs in a no contest against The United Empire, which would lead into the first ever Dog Pound Steel Cage match. The match took place on February 11th at The New Beginning In Osaka, where the War Dogs emerged victorious after over an hour of warfare inside the cage.Following the match, Barlow took a short period of time off of New Japan for the subsequent Fantastica Mania and New Japan Cup tours, where he returned to the United States to compete for a handful of independent promotions, as well as in a few matches for Ring of Honor. On top of bookings, Jamie helped out with the crop of talent in the NJPW Academy for his month away from Japan. At NJPW Windy City Riot on April 12th, Barlow teamed with Connors, Finlay and Kidd to defeat Eddie Kingston, Homicide, Jeff Cobb and TJP, before returning to Japan for the upcoming Road To Wrestling Dontaku tour.In the backstage comments after his match at Wrestling Dontaku Night 1, where he teamed with KENTA and Taiji Ishimori to defeat Bishamon and Tiger Mask, Jamie revealed that he wasn't sure what the future held for him, and after spending the better part of six years in a long-distance relationship with his fiancée, he knew that he couldn't stay in Japan forever. But he had two lifelong dreams to fulfill first: winning the Best of the Super Jr. tournament, and winning the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship.Following Wrestling Dontaku was Best of the Super Jr. 31, where Barlow competed in the A Block once again. He finished at the top of his block on 14 points once again, displaying a defiant attitude and refusing to go down against all but two of his opponents. Barlow then advanced to the finals after a victory over the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, KAZUKI in the Semifinals. In the finals of the tournament, he faced his old tournament rival El Desperado once again — one of just two men to defeat him in his block, and a man he hadn't defeated in a singles match since 2015. But against all the odds, in the main event of Dominion 6.9 In Osaka-Jo Hall, Jamie picked up the victory and won the Best of the Super Jr. tournament. His match for the championship took place only a week later on June 16th, on the first night of the New Japan Soul tour, where he faced off with the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, KAZUKI, whom he had defeated in the tournament semifinals. Barlow defeated KAZUKI to capture the championship, fulfilling his dream of becoming the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion.Later in the tour, Barlow made his first defence of the championship against DOUKI on Night 7. His next defence took place against SAKUMA on Night 4 of the Road To Destruction tour, before he entered into a competitive "internal" rivalry with the Jr. Heavyweight members of House of Torture. First defending against Hikari Tomizawa on September 29th at Destruction In Kobe, then subsequently defending against KAZUKI at King Of Pro-Wrestling on October 14th. But after the match, Barlow was jumped by KAZUKI and Tomizawa, until he was saved from the attack by a returning Saito Misaki. Saito hesitantly stared down his former partner, and announced that he was officially cleared to return to wrestling. After another successful defence of the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship against Master Wato at Power Struggle on November 4th, Barlow was met in the ring by Saito Misaki once again. He challenged him to a title match at Wrestle Kingdom, which Jamie accepted. The match took place on the biggest stage in the Tokyo Dome on January 4th, 2025. Saito Misaki picked up the victory, capturing his own first IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship and ending Jamie's first and only reign with the title after 202 days. The two embraced after the match, and Barlow raised the hand of the man he viewed as a little brother after their contest. But following the match, Jamie was attacked in the ring by Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney. Misaki rushed back to the ring to make the save, but not before he was laid out with a Hit & Run.The following night at New Year Dash!!, Jamie Barlow rushed the ring after a victory from the BULLET CLUB War Dogs, where he attempted to pick a fight with them. The numbers advantage got the better of him, until Saito Misaki ran out to help him once again. Saito then proceeded to issue a challenge to Connors & Moloney for a tag team match at The New Beginning In Osaka! The match took place on February 11th, and would mark Jamie Barlow's final appearance for New Japan Pro-Wrestling when he was pinned in the middle of the ring following a Drilla Killa. He thanked the crowd for nearly ten years of their love and support here in Japan, but it was time for him to go home. ALL ELITE WRESTLING (2025 – PRESENT) : After a few months of absence from pro-wrestling, Jamie Barlow made a surprise appearance alongside his longtime tag team partner, Josh Hammond, as the two confronted Brandon Torres & Kenny Omega after their AEW World Tag Team Championship defence at All In Texas on July 12th, 2025.The Kings of the New Age and their history was displayed in a video package the following Saturday on Collision, and they were slated to make their in-ring debut the next week. The duo defeated AR Fox and Serpentico in their debut match. Two weeks later, it was announced that Josh Hammond would be competing in a Four Way Technical Specatcle for the opportunity to face Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, which Barlow accompanied him to the ring for on the August 16th edition of Collision, though he was submitted by Nigel McGuinness. The following Saturday, the duo defeated The Grizzled Young Veterans in tag team action. On the Zero Hour of Forbidden Door, they teamed up with Lee Moriarty of Shane Taylor Promotions to pick up a victory over JetSpeed and Michael Oku.That Wednesday, The Kings of the New Age competed in a #1 Contenders Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship against FTR, where they remained undefeated in tag team competition by defeating the former AEW World Tag Team Champions. One week later, Barlow and Hammond confronted the champions in a backstage interview, leading to a sit-down interview that was broadcasted that Saturday on Collision.
